Seaflex Inflatable Buoys, Low Pressure Fenders, Drogue Anchors
and other products
|
The technology developed for the
manufacture of flexible buoyancy has lead the company to produce
many other flexible load bearing structures, some of which are detailed
below.

|

|
Seaflex SeaMarks:
Highly visible and able to carry a sponsor’s message, SeaMark
inflatable buoys are bought and hired by leading yacht clubs and
event organisers for major occasions. Manufactured from top grade
materials under BS EN ISO 9001:2000 procedures they provide organisers
and sponsors with a reliable and versatile product when hosting
important events.

Seaflex Low
Pressure Fenders:
All Seaflex fenders are constructed from first grade polyurethane
coated aramid fabrics. The coating provides extremely high abrasion
and UV resistance, coupled with excellent air retention and mechanical
weld strength. They are an elegant solution to the storage problem
normally associated with large yacht fenders.

Seaflex Lifeboat
Testing Systems:
Following the successful introduction of the Seaflex WaterLoad©
range of test weights with capacities up to 35 tons, the company
has now responded to the demand for a versatile and integrated multi-unit
system for testing lighter loads such as lifeboats, elevators and
other structures with difficult access. The system comprises of
a series of 375kg water bags coupled to a remote filling and discharge
manifold which allows the required load to be applied in spaces
where traditional solid weights are difficult to place.

Seaflex Drogue
Anchors:
Developed in response to a requirement by the Royal National Lifeboat
Institution, two sizes of drogue were constructed by Seaflex and
tested over a period of two years before adoption by the Institution.
The Seaward Drogue is used to help prevent the Lifeboats broaching
in heavy following seas and the smaller Seaward Yacht Drogue is
designed to be streamed from the casualty under tow and prevent
her over-running the towing lifeboat.

Seaflex FESA
Bags:
Seaflex designed, developed and manufactured a Fully Enclosed Single
Attachment (FESA) variable buoyancy system in response to a requirement
by the ETPM DeepSea Plough Project (see 'Overview' below). Seaflex
FESA bags provided over 60t of underwater buoyancy while increasing
the airweight by only 500kg. This allowed the owner’s vessel
with limited heave compensation to deploy the plough in it’s
heaviest form without needing to charter in a bigger vessel. The
system’s success lead to it’s use on several MPP projects
since. |

Seaflex Mine
Recovery Systems:
The Seaflex Mine Recovery Bag (MRB) is a simple and innovative alternative
to what has become an extremely expensive and over-complicated solution
to a simple problem. By using an enclosed unit, which can be filled
from a safe distance, capable of free ascent and being towed for
long distances, the mine recovery problem has been reduced to a
simple and inexpensive operation that can be performed by any competent
ordnance disposal team without special equipment. |
Experience gained in designing, manufacturing, hiring and maintaining
the world’s largest stock of certified flexible buoyancy is
incorporated into every innovative ‘special’ Seaflex
produce. It is this experience coupled with our innovative approach
and no compromise attitude to workmanship that has earned our enviable
reputation. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you think
we could be of help.
