Fabric – PVC coated polyester basecloth with high tenacity coating and UV stabilised coating. UTS of 4000n/50mm for 2650 designations, 8000UTS for 1500 designation.
Construction – all seams RF welded as are the reinforcers in way of all penetrators and strongpoints.
Fittings – ¾” BSP male threaded penetrators with quarter turn valves fitted as standard. PRVs can be fitted in some configurations but are generally not. This is to allow for the higher pressures required when used for sinking or recovery operations.
Attachment – Loops pitched at 1200mm welded to the top of the Kraken provide location points for rope or webbing attachments. Each end of a section is fitted with a strong webbing loops for connection to the adjoining section and bowsing down onto the pipe.
Storage and transit – Kraken is normally supplied on steel drums suitable for use with Deployment and Recovery Units. Alternatively it can be supplied flaked into purpose made timber crates where pipes are to be fitted with Kraken sections prior to launching from a beach.
